What do a meat pie and Google have in common?

A meat pie – at least the highly processed supermarket type – has too many additives.  Google has too many extraneous results.

The ingredient list for a store-bought meat pie is usually nearly unreadable.  Google SERPs are often much the same.

A cooked meat pie has a delicious crispy crust.  Amid a growing glut of hyper-targetable online media and falling ad prices, some say Google’s ad-dependent revenue model is getting a bit old and crusty.

Both meat pie manufacturers and Google claim to do no evil.  However, who really knows if either is safe, with the former likely carcinogenic and the latter a privacy bomb that may one day go off.

Eating too many meat pies may cause indigestion.  Google’s alleged abuse of cookies likely gives some privacy advocates indigestion.

Okay, the title was merely there to attract attention.  Admittedly a meat pie and Google have nothing substantial in common … for now.  But the wireless 3G Web 2.0 meat pie of the future, to be created by some brilliant start up and later bought by Google, well that’ll be something all together different, don’t you think?
